Privateer Advances U.S. Saudi and Geospatial Engagements Across the Gulf

U.S. Chamber discussions explored sovereign space capabilities, Earth observation and regional geospatial applications

HONOLULU – Privateer participated in a series of high-level U.S. Chamber of Commerce engagements with government and industry leaders from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and Iraq to discuss commercial space, Earth observation and geospatial intelligence.

The discussions reflected a growing opportunity to deepen U.S.–Saudi cooperation as the Kingdom invests in the infrastructure, data and talent required to build sovereign space capabilities. According to Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission, the Kingdom’s space economy reached approximately $8.7 billion in 2024, while its domestic space market grew 13% year over year to approximately $1.9 billion. 

In Saudi Arabia, discussions focused on how these capabilities could support infrastructure development, water security, environmental monitoring, maritime awareness and economic diversification. Privateer technology can help national stakeholders combine sovereign data with trusted commercial sources while retaining control over their information, operations and priorities. 

Privateer emphasized that sovereign capability does not require building every component independently. By combining national infrastructure and local expertise with trusted commercial technologies, Saudi Arabia and regional actors can accelerate the development of an interoperable space ecosystem that retains control of its data and priorities while benefiting from U.S. innovation and international partnership.
